Nick grew up around a mix of animals, inspiring his lifelong love of creatures. After earning his veterinary degree at Melbourne University in 2021, he joined The Ark in Darwin. He has special interests in internal medicine, fish, and birds, enjoys the diverse caseload and remote community work, and shares his life with a rescue dog while regularly fostering others in need.

Nick grew up surrounded by an eclectic menagerie of animals — from birds and reptiles to furry companions of every kind — sparking a lifelong fascination with the way creatures live, behave, and heal. That curiosity evolved into a deep passion for veterinary medicine and led him to complete his degree at Melbourne University in 2021. True to his adventurous spirit, he packed up and drove straight to Darwin after graduating to join The Ark team.

Nick brings a thoughtful, science-driven approach to his work, with a particular interest in internal medicine and the complex diagnostic puzzles it presents. He also has a special affinity for fish and birds, and enjoys applying his knowledge to the care of exotic and native species alike. His calm, analytical nature makes him adept at handling challenging cases, and he values the opportunity to keep expanding his skills across The Ark’s diverse caseload.

One of Nick’s greatest joys is working outdoors on Country, providing veterinary care in remote communities. He finds this work deeply rewarding — not just for the animals he treats, but for the chance to collaborate with and learn from First Nations people while travelling through some of the Territory’s most stunning landscapes.

A devoted dog lover, Nick shares his home with his beloved rescue dog and regularly fosters others, helping them build trust and find their forever homes. When he’s not at work, you’ll often find him exploring the outdoors, enjoying life in the Top End, and soaking up everything this vibrant region has to offer.
