Dr Hannah Bryett

Hannah first joined The Ark as an undergraduate student, travelling all the way from Townsville to complete her clinical placement with us — and we were thrilled when she later returned as a permanent member of the team. Even then, her passion for wildlife care was clear; she was already volunteering as a wildlife carer and drawn to The Ark’s exceptional range of native species and the opportunity to make a real difference.

Hannah’s love of animals began early, and after finishing high school she spent several years travelling and volunteering in animal welfare. These experiences deepened her compassion for animals and strengthened her belief in the vital connection between people, animals, and community wellbeing. She was inspired to study Veterinary medicine by her desire to be better able to help the vast numbers of sick and injured animals she came across.

She has a particular interest in community medicine and is passionate about the role animals play in fostering healthy, connected communities — especially in regional and remote settings. More recently, she’s adopted a cat of her own, which has sparked a growing interest in feline medicine and dermatology. Always eager to learn, Hannah is expanding her skillset in these areas while continuing to bring empathy, dedication, and curiosity to every patient she treats.
