Dr Amélie Panche

Amelie grew up in the beautiful surrounds of New Caledonia, where her love of animals began early on her family’s property. Surrounded by horses, dogs, and a variety of farm animals, she spent much of her childhood outdoors riding, exploring, and learning about the natural world. That deep connection to animals — and a desire to help them — inspired her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.

After moving to Australia to pursue her studies, Amelie completed her veterinary degree in Brisbane in 2023. Following a short and rather chilly stint in Melbourne, she decided to head north for some sunshine and adventure, joining The Ark team in Darwin.

Amelie loves the wide variety of cases she sees each day, from beloved family pets to the incredible range of wildlife that come through the doors. She enjoys the hands-on nature of the work, the chance to keep learning new skills, and the rewarding nature of the work.

Outside of work, Amelie enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring the Top End’s stunning landscapes, and staying connected to her equestrian roots whenever she can. Warm, curious, and endlessly dedicated, she brings compassion and enthusiasm to every patient she meets.
